Alocasia macrorrhizos, Forest clearing < Back
Alocasia macrorrhizos, of the Araceae is commonly known as the Giant taro or Elephant ear. It is found through Southeast Asia across to the northeast coast of Australia and into the the Pacific islands. The leaves are very large, over 90cm (36 inches) long. A clump is seen here growing in the forests of Singapore.
