Silvereye < Back
Silvereye, Zosterops lateralis lateralis, feeding on the infloresence of a Grass tree, Xanthorrhoea spp., South eastern Australia in the Spring. Also known as a Wax-eye, it is a small passerine bird native to Australia, New Zealand and the south-west Pacific islands of Lord Howe, New Caledonia, Loyalty Islands, Vanuatu, and Fiji. The Lord Howe subspecies is critically endangered.
